Both GIY and Living material need flour as a source of quick sugars to jumpstart the metabolism of the mycelium. Save time measuring with your own flour at home and order a premeasured bag of flour for your specific GIY product. 

Measurements:

• GIY Material- 4 tablespoons flour needed in Step 1 and Step 2
  
• 20lb Living Material- 1.5 cups flour in Step 2 (Living material skips step 1)
